Oggun: Creating A bridge Among Worlds
Video/ performance/installation by Leandro Soto
Assuming the roll of a construction worker like Orisha Oggun, the
artist creates and destroy in a permanent cycle. With
recycled materials, objects, tools, and trash Oggun builds a city in
slow motion. At the end, evaluating his final results, the Orisha
destroys the entire arrangement looking for a better way to render his
ideas. This cycle of destruction/construction is performed with alternating classical
European music and
Yoruban music dedicated to the Orisha.
